Reese Witherspoon had a very special date at the 2024 Vanity Fair pre-Golden Globe party: her 20-year-old son, Deacon Phillippe.
Last night, the actress stepped out for the sweetest mother-son date with Deacon while celebrating the kick-off to award season at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles — and, like any other mommy-and-me duo, they showed up in coordinating outfits. Witherspoon, for her part, wore a red sequined midi dress with matching velvet heels and diamond jewelry.
She topped off her look with an oversized black blazer that complemented her lookalike son's two-piece suit, which consisted of a navy jacket with black piping on the lapels and a pair of matching tailored trousers. Witherspoon styled her hair down in tousled waves with a center part and complemented her glowing complexion with a peachy-pink lip and a generous swirl of blush. He added a white dress shirt underneath his suit and slicked his blonde hair back.
The pair also walked the Golden Globes red carpet together, with Deacon acting as his mom's date to celebrate her Apple TV+ hit The Morning Show. They coordinated once again, with Reese choosing a pink-and-black TK gown for the occasion and Deacon opting for a classic black tux.
Reese shares Deacon and her 24-year-old daughter, Ava, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. The actress is also a mom to a 11-year-old son, Tennessee, whom she shares with her ex Jim Toth.
Back in June 2021, Witherspoon opened up about the "rewarding" relationships she has with her adult children, Deacon and Ava, while speaking with Tracee Ellis Ross for Interview magazine's summer issue. "That makes me want to cry, the idea of having a long relationship with adult children," Witherspoon said. "I never expected the kind of relationship that I have with them, but it's so rewarding to be able to have kids that you can process life with a little bit, and they help me understand the complexities of what it means to be a human now."
She continued, "So I'm really, really grateful that these little humans are in my life. Adult humans. I have two adult children now, Tracee. It's crazy."
