Victoria Beckham may be one of the most notable It girls of our time, but apparently, it didn’t always used to be that way. In a recent Instagram post, the former Spice Girl highlighted Anti-Bullying Week by opening up about her firsthand experience with bullying — and sharing the one sentiment that she’s constantly drilling into her 12-year-old daughter’s head.
In a post shared on Sunday, Beckham shared two images of her and her daughter Harper (whom she shares with her husband David Beckham) alongside a powerful caption and video.
“BE THE KINDEST IN THE CLASSROOM!” her caption began. “I’m so proud to raise a strong and caring daughter! Growing up I was bullied a lot at school, and I often tell Harper how important it is to be kind and call out if anyone is ever being bullied – especially if there’s ever another little girl on her own in the playground, because that was once her mummy!”
Victoria continued, “This #AntiBullyingWeek it’s so important to not be silent if someone is alone or being bullied. 💜💜💜 xx Kisses #HarperSeven I love you so much xx.”
David and Victoria, who also share sons Romeo and Brooklyn, have long been open about the special bond they have with their only daughter. Back in July, each of the parents posted heartfelt birthday messages in honor of Harper’s 12th birthday.
“Harper Seven is 12!! (almost) @Prada party for Harper Seven 💕CHIC!! @davidbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham @harrods,” the fashion designer captioned a dump of Harper’s Prada-themed party at the time.
As for his tribute, David wrote, “Happy Birthday my pretty lady. Keep being beautiful inside and out, you are the most amazing little girl a daddy could wish for. Daddy loves you. #HarperSeven @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham.”
