Julia Roberts just blessed the internet with a rare glimpse into her marriage with Danny Moder.
On Wednesday, the Oscar-winning actress celebrated her husband's 55th birthday with a sweet tribute that was accompanied by an even sweeter photo on Instagram. "Happy Birthday to this amazing man who lights up our world. ✨⚡️✨⚡️ #131💞," Roberts wrote in a caption to the post, which featured a snapshot of the notoriously private couple lovingly gazing into each other's eyes. Moder, dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt, sat behind a blonde Roberts, who leaned into his arms and looked back at him with a smile.
Roberts and Moder, a professional cinematographer, met on the set of the 2001 film The Mexican, which Julia starred in as Brad Pitt's character's girlfriend, Samantha Barzel, and Danny was a cameraman. The following year, the couple got married during a surprise wedding at Julia's 82-acre ranch in New Mexico on the Fourth of July. They later welcomed three children together — 19-year-old twins Hazel Patricia and Phinnaeus Walter and son Henry Daniel, 16.
While the pair have mostly kept the details of their relationship out of the spotlight for 20-plus years, occasionally, Julia will share a cute tidbit here and there about her marriage to Moder. Just in December, she adorably referred to Danny as her family's "anchor" during an interview with the Today show.
“It all starts with Danny Moder. He’s just really our anchor and our person,” she gushed when asked about parenting their three kids. “And in the most beautiful way, [he’s] the captain of our ship. Truly.” She added, “For me, understanding how deeply felt life could be really started with him."
As for the secret to their long-lasting marriage? "Two bathroom sinks and lots of kissing," Julia jokingly shared.
