Usher Got Married to His Longtime Girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea in Las Vegas

It's official: after People reported that Usher and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, obtained a marriage license in Las Vegas in the days leading up to the Super Bowl, the publication confirmed that the couple officially tied the knot in Sin City. After the R&B singer performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, he and Goicoechea stepped out together to celebrate the spectacle (which included cameos from Lil Jon, Ludacris, Alicia Keys, and more). While they were out, Usher was seen wearing a gold band on his left ring finger.

Previously, the magazine reported that Usher and Goicoechea had only obtained a marriage license and had not yet filed it. Sources close to the couple revealed that things are official, though details about exactly when it happened still haven't been shared. 

Leading up to his nostalgia-fueled performance, Usher told People about his relationship, saying that he had found a "great partner" and that it was a "pleasure" to be linked to Goicoechea.

"Listen, when you find someone that you know is a great partner, of course, it is an honor and a pleasure to be able to share life with someone who wants to share it with you and loves you, who you are," he said. "We've obviously made a commitment to life for life together because of our children. It wouldn't be odd for us to get married. We already did here. You know what I'm saying? And we're going to be in each other's lives until we die, obviously, because we have something to share. That's beautiful. Our children. But not because of that. I really do feel like I have an amazing partner that I respect."

Usher and Goicoechea have two children together. Their daughter Sovereign Bo, was born in 2020 and their son, Sire Castrello, arrived in 2021. Usher shares two sons, Usher V and Naviyd Ely, with ex-wife Tameka Foster.

Goicoechea, who is a music executive and ex-manager, has been in the music industry for decades and crossed paths with Usher multiple times. The two officially met at producer Keith Thomas's 40th birthday party back in 2019 and have been linked romantically ever since.
