Ever since Barbie promotion began last summer, Margot Robbie has committed to the bit by recreating some of Mattel's most iconic dolls (from the Totally Hair doll to the 1960 Solo in the Spotlight and Earring Magic Barbies). Fans have speculated whether or not Robbie and her stylist Andrew Mukamal would continue the doll craze this awards season. Spoiler: they did. At the 2024 Golden Globes, Margot showed up in a custom Giorgio Armani Privé gown inspired by 1977's SuperStar Barbie.

Her hot pink sequined gown featured V-neck straps and a floor-sweeping hemline, and she wrapped herself with a matching tulle pink boa covered in polka dots. Margot's accessories included giant diamond earrings and coordinating pink clutch, and she wore her blonde hair down in loose waves with a center part.

Barbie leads the pack with a total of nine nominations tonight, including Robbie's Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. The actress, who played the storied doll in what was arguably the year's biggest movie, will go toe-to-toe with Fantasia Barrino for The Color Purple, Jennifer Lawrence in No Hard Feelings, Natalie Portman in May December, Alma Pöysti for Fallen Leaves, and Emma Stone in Poor Things. This year marks Robbie's fourth nomination — she was previously nominated in 2018 for I, Tonya, 2020 for Bombshell, and last year for her role in Babylon. This would be her first win.

Although the film had not yet premiered at the time of last year's Globes, Robbie still gave a subtle nod to her character in a baby-pink Chanel gown consisting of sheer lace paneling and a fringed skirt. She wore her signature long blonde hair in a middle part and loose curls that cascaded down her back.

Robbie hinted at her awards season aesthetic at the 33rd annual Gotham Awards, where she wore a black Prada dress and matching sheer cape that channeled the Barbie Black Magic Ensemble collection from the 1960s.
